Houston, TX

Labor Day Weekend 2007: Road Trip from Minneapolis to Milwaukee to Chicago to St. Louis. 4 Ballgames, 4 days, 3 girls, and a minivan. Food including cheese, pizza, and sno-cones.

Labor Day Weekend 2008: Two cities in one state (Texas), including food along the lines of Vietnamese, Mexican, and BBQ. Translation: I'm going to Texas to finish my baseball stadium tour!!!

Friday afternoon, I flew to Houston ... the beginning of the end of my tour. I spent Friday night with Jenny's family (thanks again!!) - it was so fun to see some familiar faces. How could you not enjoy a trip with darling kids like these?? :) They were so much fun - and I'm so grateful they let me crash their party!!

Saturday morning I went to the Houston temple. It is absolutely beautiful! Like most temples are, it was in a very nice part of town with some enormous homes surrounding it. I always love going to temples when I travel. What I don't love? Asking random strangers to take my picture while they are waiting for their wedding party to finish taking pictures ...
After a fantastic Mexican lunch with the Olsen's and some family friends, we had a little shopping trip. Then, I headed out to check another stadium off my list. And, the rest is history (as well as another post)...

Shanna, that is so crazy that you were there that day - so was I! I was visiting my parents in Houston and we went to a session on Saturday afternoon and saw that wedding party too.

I was still living about 80 miles east of Houston when the temple was announced. We were so excited! Then we moved to Utah, and I haven't seen in person yet. It looks so pretty!
