Every once in awhile, you have an experience that really screams WOW ... that's exactly what happened to me on Saturday. Merrily was in town for her cousin Sarah's wedding, and I was her date to the reception. She'd told me beforehand that this was a reception that I did not want to miss - and once we arrived, I saw why. Seriously, it was something to rival a Martha Stewart wedding. A sit-down dinner and dancing for 300 people in North Potomac, MD. This is what I saw when I arrived, after the valets parked my
car: a huge white tent in the massive backyard, complete with a full live band, a huge dance floor, beautiful meticulously set tables, hundreds of gorgeous flowers, fabulous hors d'oeuvres and drinks, floating candles in the pool, and everyone in fancy party attire - ready to have a grand time all night long.
The dinner was amazing, and the dancing was a blast (and coming from a girl who doesn't typically like dancing, that says a lot)! Even if there was a bit of an awkward situation involving a guy that I went out a couple years ago sitting next to me at dinner and dancing with off and on throughout the evening (who just so happened to be a cousin on the other side of the family ... and was in town for the wedding), Merrily and I had a ball together!
